Polyshades is more like a paint in that the colour coats the surface instead of staining it and acts as the wear layer as well.
These two major materials make the polyshade more authentic and worthy.
On a scrap piece of wood practice brushing out a few strokes of polyshades to get a feel for how it flows onto the wood.
Even it is usable at the door windows and wooden floors too.
The satin stain makes the floor smooth shiny and elegant.

The thinking of minwax is they cannot stand behind their product in flooring use since as the wear layer wears the colour density changes as well which to most users would be unacceptable.
Not sure how well it will hold up to foot traffic.
Minwax polyshades on my entire floor you could try to put a coat of polyurethane or two on top of the floor but as big g mentioned you re using it for a non recommended use.
The reason it wont hold up on the floor is that the stain that is mixed with the urethane makes the finish coat too soft.
There are several reasons for this and in this video i tell you what they are.
However used simply as a vehicle for the stain to be applied or yes painted on top of an existing coating and then topped with a polyurethane that is recommended for floors polyshades is ideal.
You are right on track by putting clear poly on top of the polyshades.
Instead stain with minwax wood finish and topcoat with minwax super fast drying polyurethane for floors or minwax fast drying polyurethane.
Perhaps not ideal but likely at least acceptable.
Thin coats are easier to control than thick ones.
Polyshades is not recommended for use on floors.
Maybe using a deck grade stain sealant will help but really can t say what it will do for looks of your floor.
Work quickly as you apply polyshades the length of each board in smooth even strokes.
