Begin at one of the corners and apply an even coat of primer over the entire floor. You simply roll it across the floor surface to apply it. The harder the paint is the better the polyurethane will work. There are household strength and industrial commercial strength.

Your sealer needs a high amount of polymer in the product for durability and protection around 50 solids which is much higher than standard floor finishes. If you want to change the color of the tile use a white primer that will allow you to paint on a layer of floor paint. Use a roller to apply paint evenly to the tile.

So to properly apply polyurethane over paint. Ensure the paint is thoroughly dry before applying the sealer. You can take a cup of trisodium phosphate and mix. Let the paint dry for 24 to 48 hours until it is completely dry.

3 you can use our vinylguard water based polyurethane sealer. Water based polyurethane is the perfect sealant for painted tile. Add a clear coat of polyurethane if desired. The clear primer allows for the epoxy coating to adhere to the floor without destroying the color of the tile.

Grease stains dirt dried mud and any sort of other filth needs to be washed off before you can apply the first coat of polyurethane. It is extremely durable and washable. Restaurants that have wooden flooring use polyurethane on their flooring and it does not show scratches. Use a soft sponge or rag and a powerful detergent to clean up the painted surface.

When painting tiles with epoxy or tile paint make sure the area is well. Make sure to paint grout as well.
